Why and How to become a Child of God

WHY ?
God created mankind to glorify Himself. Because Adam (the first man) disobeyed God, the companionship was interrupted (much like when a child disobeys his father). God, being holy and without sin, could no longer associate Himself with sinful man. As a result, an eternal relationship with God was no longer within man's reach.

Unless man fulfills his original design (to glorify God), he will never be complete. He will always be searching for something. He may find temporary pleasure in love, money, possessions, and a career, but ultimately he will never be satisfied...he will never feel whole.

Romans 5:12 - "Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

James 2:10 - "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

WE MUST REALIZE...
Before anyone can begin to restore that original relationship with God, one must realize that he or she is incapable of restoring that relationship by his own merit. The heart of mankind is depraved by nature. God is HOLY, and we, even if we do good things all of our life, could never earn or attain that level of holiness.

Jeremiah 17:9 - "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

WE MUST HUMBLE OURSELVES
In realizing that we can't do anything about our depraved, sin nature, we simply accept the grace that God has extended to us through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. The greatest sin of all is not accepting God's plan for forgiveness.

John 14:6 - "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Jesus (God in the flesh) was able to accomplish what every other man has failed to do...live His life without sin. By accepting God's plan, the righteousness of Jesus is placed on us. God no longer sees the believer as sinful because he/she is covered by the righteousness of Jesus.

HOW TO ACCEPT THE PLAN!
First, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Agree with God that you have been wrong, ask His forgiveness and allow Him to transform you as you make Him LORD of your life.

Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Is it really that simple?

If coming to the end of yourself, realizing your need for a Savior and crying out to Him seems simple, then the answer is "yes." God desperately loves you and has masterfully crafted a plan of redemption for the human race. The question is, "Will you accept it?"
